Our Services
Our services produce high-tech, quality work not readily available in the area. We understand that our customers are not only looking to have their materials hardened, but they’re also looking for the distinctive strength and reliability of the mechanical and physical surface properties that Universal Induction has been providing for decades.
Induction Heat Treating
Universal Induction utilizes state-of-the-art equipment and complex technology to perform induction heat treatment on a variety of parts such as shafts, rollers, pins, gears, bearings and more.
Our capabilities include power supplies from 40-KW up to 250-KW radio frequency and solid state. Our specialized system can harden pins made from medium high to high carbon and alloys steel from 0.25 inches in diameter up to 6.0 inches. This system can harden a localized area up to 36″ long or entire length, with case depth ranging from 0.010″ to 0.500″ achievable to meet customer specifications.
Induction Annealing
This process gives the steel its best machinability by heating the parts to an austenitic range and then slowly cooling to room temperature. This process causes the steel to become soft, which allows it to be machinable or pliable for different applications.
Metallurgical Laboratory
Our metallurgical laboratory is under the supervision of a graduate metallurgist. The lab is completely equipped with the latest testing instruments and machines to accurately perform all testing and inspection operations. SPC is used throughout the process to guarantee our quality.
Additional in-demand services include utilizing a complete precision scanner for hardening a wide variety of parts, featuring models with two spindle towers for high-volume production. We also offer a lift and rotate table specifically designed to harden high-volume gears and rollers.
